Lawn Service Polices

Our crews and office staff work Monday thru Friday. Our crews are in certain areas on certain days, so you will be assigned a specific mow day. The crew follows the same route every week, so you will notice they arrive about the same time each week. However, as we add customers, it may change, so we cannot guarantee a time of day. Our crews sometimes work until 7PM, so if your yard is not mowed by 5PM, don't worry – we're probably right around the corner!

Lawn Care Policies


All payments can be made online via PayPal using your PayPal account, Visa, Master Card and any other major credit cards. Check & mailing info to King of the Greens, LLC. P.O. Box 884 New Bern, NC 28532. Returned/bounced checks from $25 to $50.

Late Payment

If you are late on your payments we will suspend services until you are able to get caught up. We know that emergencies happen and people forget, however we will not extend credit beyond two weeks.


We require 24-hours cancellation notice or the charge is the same. No same-day cancellations. No weekend cancellations for the following Monday. You must notify us of changes to your mowing service the day before your scheduled mow day in order for them to become effective. Weekly customer that request more than 4 "skips" during one mowing season will be elevated to the bi-weekly service rate.

Mowing Season

Our mowing season starts the week of March 1st, and ends the week of November 15th. We may end our season sooner or later depending on the weather changes and when your lawn begins to stop growing, which is normally when it goes dormant. You have to love the North Carolina weather. Your property will be serviced weekly, or bi-weekly, between those dates. We do not skip mow days that fall on major holidays.

Service Day

Once assigned, your service day will not change for the service season. Service will be completed between 7am and 7pm on your service day, we cannot adhere to a more specific time frame. Please set your sprinkler system to OFF on your service day.


For our weekly clients, we do our best to provide our services to you on the same day every week. If rain causes us to miss a day we will reschedule for the next available day if at all possible. For bi-weekly clients, we will schedule you the next available day in the same week. We will still service your lawn on days of moderate rain, always taking into consideration any drainage problems your property may have before we begin. If you believe your lawn is too wet to be mowed, you must contact us before 8am to have your lawn "skipped" for that week.

Locked Gates

We advise that you use a combination lock and provide us with the code or if you use a key lock, please provide us with a copy of the key. We will ensure that your yard is locked up after we are done with our lawn care services. If we cannot gain access to your lawn at the time of your service you will be charged as if that service took place.


If you have pets, we ask that all toys, feces and any other small items be picked up before your day of service. Excessive waste will result in extra charge for clean up of your yard and our equipment. We will do our best to avoid toys, but will not be responsible for any damages of items that may interfere with the maintenance of your yard.

Damaged Property

Damages do occur, especially awkward lawns with sprinkler heads and such, and we want to know about hem so we can fix them. If you notice any damages done by our crews, please notify us immediately within 24-hours and we will repair any damages caused by our technicians or equipment. If we damage a sprinkler head we will simply replace it at our expense.


We will always be mindful of pets kept on your property, but we cannot be held responsible for any pet while maintenance is being performed. On your scheduled service day please assure that your lawn is free of pet droppings. We reserve the right to charge a $15.00 equipment clean-up fee for excessive pet droppings on your property.


We want happy customers, and if for any reason you are not satisfied with your service please contact us within 24-hours. We cannot issue refunds for the service, but we will fix the problem.

Lawn Mowing – Sprinklers/Lighting

If we damage a sprinkler head or drain cap, contact us within a week of the damage and we will repair or replace the damaged item at our discretion. We may decide, at our discretion, to service lawns which have landscape lighting with exposed (above the surface) wiring – but cannot be responsible for damages.

Mowing a Lawn with a Pool

Our rates are determined by lot size. We will not increase or decrease the quoted service rate for your yard based on the presence of a pool – regardless of whether there is currently a pool, or whether one is added in the future. Serving a home with a pool involves more edging and line trimming than a home without a pool, and there are also less open areas to mow, but we choose not to charge extra for this service.

Your Lawn Mowing Satisfaction Guarantee

If you feel that our work is not satisfactory, or you think that we did not show up. Simply call or e-mail a short and courteous request and we will send our crew back to re-mow your lawn at no additional charge – either the same day or the next day! Your request must be submitted within 24-hours of your designated mow day, otherwise, we will consider the services provided on that trip satisfactory. Any issues brought to our attention outside the 24-hour window will be addressed on the next designated mow day. Credits are not available.

Rain and Your Mowing Schedule

We try to finish our routes even on rainy days, unless the entire day is washed out due to torrential downpour. If rain delays your designated mow day, we delay the remainder of the weekly schedule by one day so we can return and service your lawn the very next day. Saturday is the "make-up" day for schedules that are delayed due to rain. We keep a strict schedule and we rely on you to call to skip if you think your lawn is too wet to mow.

What if I don't want my Lawn Mowed This Week?

Weekly customers are able to skip their designated mow day for special circumstances up to twice in a mowing season. If you choose to skip your designated mow day, we will resume service on the next designated mow day on your schedule.

Gates/Pets/Items in Yard

Our crews are very careful about locking and closing gates, however, we cannot guarantee the safety or security of your pet. Our crews will not be able to notify you on their arrival under any circumstance, so we highly recommend that you secure your pet indoors or some other secure location on your designated mow day. You accept our service with this provision. All Toys, hoses, pet waste and other items should be cleared out for mow day.


We carry a $1,000,000 liability policy and our trucks are fully insured.

Lawn Mowing Service and Lawn Weeds

Cleaning out your flower beds is not a part of the mowing service. Bush & Bed service is available and charged hourly as described on our page.


Payment for service is required within 15 days of receipt of invoice. For One Time service, we require payment as so as Work is complete. Although we are very punctual, keep in mind that if payment is not received on time, we will not be able to provide service. Upon resuming service following an interruption due to late payment, if grass has not been mowed during the interim, you will be charged for a double cut.
